Who is eligible to enter the EPPY^TM Awards?
The EPPY^TM Awards are open to all media and media-affiliated websites. Colleges and universities are only eligible to enter the Best College/University Website categories.

Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at midnight PDT.

How are the EPPY^TM Awards judged?
More than 60 industry experts and media specialists from the business and academic sectors judge the EPPY^TM entries. Categories are judged on criteria such as design, ease of use, comprehensiveness, and timeliness, with special attention to each entrant's value added through the unique attributes of interactivity.

Each EPPY^TM entry is judged on its own merits within a particular category.  Finalists must receive a score in the top one third of the average score across all categories within their division (1 million and over unique monthly visitors; 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors; or under 250,00 unique monthly visitors).  As a result, there may be no winners in categories not reaching this threshold.

In the "Best News or Event Feature" category, what is the difference between a News or Event entry and an Enterprise entry?
The Best Special Feature category was split several years ago to acknowledge the difference between features focused on News or an Event (for example, the war in Iraq or the U.S. Open Golf Tournament) and those that are more trend-oriented (for example, health care reform or global warming). It is a way to segment one of the EPPY^TM's most popular categories, and to judge entries more fairly against like competition.

Can vendors enter the EPPY^TM Awards?
Although anyone can make (and pay for) a nomination, the EPPY^TM Awards are designed to honor media companies, not vendors such as software providers, ASPs, etc., who serve multiple media outlets.

How many companies enter the EPPY^TM Awards?
In a typical year, there are more than 400 entries representing more than 150 websites. Many major media websites submit several EPPY^TM entries in various categories.

When are finalists announced?
Finalists for the 2011 EPPY^TM Awards will be announced in November 2011.

When are the winners announced?
Winners of the 2011 EPPY^TM Awards contest will be announced on EditorandPublisher.com, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011.
