Contest Rules: 2011 EPPY™ Awards
  1. The competition is open to media companies (from any country) that operate Internet services on the World Wide Web. In addition, one category of the competition is open to College/University Newspapers that offer an affiliated website.
  2. Editor & Publisher reserves the exclusive right to extend the entry deadline. Entries received after the entry deadline will not be accepted.
  3. A non-refundable $150 entry fee is required per category; each submission thereafter is $135. In the College/University categories, all entries are $50. each.
  4. Entries must be submitted via the EPPYTM Awards website. Paper and email entries will not be accepted. Entries must be received by Oct. 14, 2011, at midnight PDT.
  5. Eligible entries must have been available on the Internet at any time during the period of March 2010 to September 30, 2011.
  6. Judging of the entries will take place from Oct. 15, to Nov. 11, 2011. If an entry is not available to the public during that period, but is eligible because it was offered during the eligibility period, it is the responsibility of the entrant to make the site available through a Web link for the judges. The judges will be chosen among industry experts by the staff of Editor & Publisher. All judging will occur on the Internet, and the decision of the judges is final.
  7. Each EPPYTM entry is judged on its own merits within a particular category.  Finalists must receive a score in the top one third of the average score across all categories within their division (1 million and over unique monthly visitors; 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors; or under 250,000 unique monthly visitors).  As a result, there may be no winners in categories not reaching this threshold.

    Winners of the awards will be announced on editorandpublisher.com, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011. Winners will receive one crystal award per entry, but additional awards are available for ordering. Each award is engraved with the winning entry information (cost is $165 + shipping).

    Honorable Mention winners will receive one certificate award per entry, but additional certificates are available for ordering ($20/each + shipping). Certificates come customized with the winner’s information and are suitable for framing in a standard 8.5" x 11" frame.
